Pakistan and United States Agree to Enhance Counter-Terrorism and Cybersecurity Cooperation

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a high-level meeting with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel in Washington, where both sides discussed enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and United States law enforcement agencies in the areas of counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, security coordination, and capacity building.

During the meeting, both officials reviewed opportunities to further strengthen institutional collaboration, including the exchange of expertise, advanced investigative capabilities, technical assistance, and specialized training programs aimed at improving responses to emerging security challenges.

Minister Mohsin Naqvi described the meeting with FBI Director Kash Patel as productive and constructive, stating that discussions covered key areas including counter-terrorism cooperation, prevention of cybercrime, illegal immigration-related issues, and officer exchange programs between the two countries.

The Interior Minister highlighted the importance of professional partnerships between security institutions and appreciated Director Kash Patel’s expertise and commitment, describing him as an effective partner in advancing cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.

According to the FBI, the discussions focused on strengthening joint efforts to counter terrorism financing, enhance cybercrime investigation capabilities, and improve cooperation between law enforcement agencies at both national and international levels.

FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized the importance of the partnership between Pakistan and the United States, noting that the FBI values Pakistan’s cooperation in addressing shared security challenges and protecting mutual interests in the region.

He expressed confidence that continued collaboration between the two countries’ law enforcement institutions would further strengthen operational coordination, intelligence sharing, and joint efforts against transnational criminal networks.

The meeting reflects the ongoing commitment of Pakistan and the United States to expand cooperation in areas of mutual security interest.
