Pakistan Links Balochistan Terror Attacks to India, Afghan Safe Havens

Balochistan, Terrorism in Balochistan, DG ISPR Press Conference

Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry on Wednesday accused India of orchestrating terrorism in Balochistan while alleging that the Afghan Taliban regime continued to facilitate terrorist organizations operating against Pakistan.

Speaking at a press conference on the recent security situation in Balochistan, the military spokesperson said the three major terrorist attacks witnessed over the past four days reflected external sponsorship rather than any local movement.

He said the group referred to by Pakistan as Fitna al-Hindustan had no connection with Baloch identity or the people of the province.

“India is carrying out terrorism in Balochistan,” the DG ISPR said, adding that terrorists opposed every initiative aimed at the welfare, prosperity and development of the province.

He reiterated Pakistan’s repeated position that Afghan territory continued to be used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

“The Afghan Taliban regime is facilitating terrorists and providing them manpower,” he said.

The military spokesperson claimed that most terrorists killed in recent operations belonged to Afghanistan and alleged that the planning behind the Karachi terrorist attacks had also taken place inside Afghanistan.

Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said terrorists targeted innocent civilians, police personnel and security forces because they could not tolerate Balochistan’s development.

“Balochistan’s prosperity is Pakistan’s prosperity,” he said.

He maintained that no force could reverse the province’s development or undermine Pakistan’s progress and dignity.

The DG ISPR also announced that all illegal Afghan nationals would be expelled from Pakistan, saying the state would not allow anyone to exploit Pakistani territory or security.

He warned that there would be no negotiations with terrorists who targeted Pakistani children, civilians and soldiers.

“The State of Pakistan’s position is clear and unequivocal. Wherever they are, they will be hunted down,” he said.

He added that security forces would continue pursuing terrorists and their facilitators without exception until the threat had been eliminated.
