The Freedom Front of Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for an alleged armed assault targeting a Taliban police command facility in the Chah Ab district of Takhar province, according to statements circulated by the group.
In its claim, the group stated that its fighters carried out a coordinated attack on the police headquarters late Sunday night, corresponding to 7 Saratan 1405 in the Hijri Shamsi calendar. The operation reportedly began with the firing of multiple rockets directed at the facility, followed by an exchange of fire using light weapons.
The group further claimed that its fighters engaged in a prolonged confrontation lasting approximately thirty minutes before withdrawing from the area.
According to the same claims, the attack resulted in casualties and material damage on the opposing side, including allegations of at least three fatalities. These figures, however, remain unverified and could not be independently confirmed.
No independent confirmation has been received from credible or official sources regarding the incident, and details related to casualties, damage, or the current security situation in the area remain unclear.
The security environment in Takhar province and other parts of northern Afghanistan continues to remain volatile, with multiple armed groups operating in the region. Access to independent verification remains limited due to ongoing security constraints and restricted reporting conditions
