Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Bajaur, eliminating two terrorists during a swift retaliatory operation, sources said.
According to initial reports, a group of terrorists launched an attack on the checkpoint and opened fire on security personnel deployed at the post. The troops responded immediately, engaging the attackers in an exchange of fire.
During the retaliatory action, two terrorists were neutralized, forcing the remaining attackers to retreat from the area, sources added.
Following the engagement, security forces cordoned off the surrounding locality and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation to ensure no additional terrorists were hiding nearby or posed any further threat.
Officials said the operation concluded after the area was thoroughly searched and declared completely secure.
The latest incident underscores the continued vigilance of security forces deployed across sensitive districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where intelligence-based operations, area domination patrols, and rapid response measures remain underway to counter terrorist threats and maintain security.
