Security forces conducted a successful counterterrorism operation in the Kalay Padah area of Mastung, where five terrorists were eliminated after timely intelligence-based action foiled what officials described as a major terrorist plot.

According to sources, during the operation one suicide bomber detonated himself in panic as security forces closed in, while four other terrorists were engaged and neutralized in the ensuing exchange of fire.

Officials said the operation was launched on credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed terrorists planning coordinated attacks in the area. Security forces swiftly cordoned off the location and initiated a targeted engagement to prevent the suspects from dispersing or executing their plan.

Following the clearance of the immediate area, security personnel recovered a significant quantity of explosives and operational equipment, including eight improvised explosive devices (IEDs), weapons, and materials used for militant activity. Two vehicles prepared for use as vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) were also seized and neutralized.

Sources added that the recovery indicates the group was actively preparing for large-scale attacks, which were disrupted due to timely intervention by security forces.

A comprehensive search and clearance operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure that no further hostile elements are present.

Authorities said the operation reflects continued intelligence-based efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent planned attacks before they can be executed, particularly in sensitive regions of Balochistan where security forces remain engaged in sustained counterterrorism operations.
