An Anti-Terrorism Court in Turbat has sentenced Sajid Ahmed, a facilitator linked to Fitna al Hindustan-associated networks, to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of facilitating terrorism-related activities and involvement with proscribed organizations.
According to details presented in court, Sajid Ahmed was arrested during a security operation conducted in Panjgur, where security forces recovered weapons and explosive materials from his possession. The arrest was made as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle facilitation networks supporting banned organizations, including the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
Investigations revealed that the convict was actively involved in facilitating recruitment and indoctrination activities linked to Fitna al Hindustan through its proxy network, including the so-called Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). He was reportedly engaged in encouraging and influencing students to join proscribed organizations and participate in subversive activities against the state.
Further evidence presented during the trial indicated that Sajid Ahmed maintained links with foreign-sponsored networks and was allegedly assigned roles in facilitating logistical preparations, including the preparation of a vehicle intended for a suicide attack.
After examining the evidence and testimonies, the Anti-Terrorism Court in Turbat convicted Sajid Ahmed and awarded him 14 years of imprisonment. Additionally, under the Balochistan Arms Act, the court imposed a further 7-year sentence, reinforcing the seriousness of the charges and the scale of unlawful activity involved.
Security and legal officials stated that the conviction represents a significant step in dismantling facilitation structures linked to Fitna al Hindustan and associated proxy networks operating in the region. They reaffirmed that individuals involved in supporting or enabling terrorist activity will be dealt with strictly under the law.
The judgment has also prompted renewed scrutiny of the nexus between foreign-sponsored networks and banned organizations, raising important questions regarding coordinated facilitation and recruitment mechanisms used to destabilize the region.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to continuing intelligence-based operations and legal proceedings against all elements involved in supporting terrorism, emphasizing that no network or individual will be allowed to undermine peace, security, and stability in Balochistan.
