Families from various areas of Gwadar publicly distanced themselves from relatives who have joined terrorist organizations and reaffirmed their allegiance to the state of Pakistan during a press conference held at the Gwadar Press Club.

The families, including relatives of individuals identified as Asad, Jalal, Sharif, and Akram, declared that they have no connection with the activities or actions of their family members who became associated with terrorist groups.

Addressing the press conference, family members said the young men had been influenced by misleading propaganda and the negative use of social media, which they said led them onto the path of violence and extremism.

They stressed that the decisions and activities of those individuals were their own and did not represent the views or values of their families.

The participants emphasized their unwavering commitment to Pakistan, its Constitution, laws, and state institutions, adding that they do not support any form of unlawful or violent activity.

Family members also appealed directly to their relatives involved with terrorist organizations, urging them to abandon violence, sever ties with extremist groups, and return to their homes and communities.

They maintained that the challenges facing Balochistan can only be addressed through constitutional, political, and democratic means rather than through violence.

The speakers further urged parents across the province to remain vigilant regarding their children’s activities, particularly their use of social media, warning that online propaganda and manipulation can make young people vulnerable to recruitment by extremist elements.

During the press conference, the families repeatedly and unequivocally stated that they reject the actions of relatives who joined terrorist organizations and stand firmly with the state of Pakistan.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts to counter extremist narratives and discourage the recruitment of young people into terrorist organizations operating in Balochistan. Family members expressed hope that those who have joined such groups would reconsider their decisions and reintegrate into society through peaceful and lawful means.
