Security forces have eliminated 48 terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK) during a series of intelligence-based operations in and around Miran Shah in North Waziristan district, delivering what officials described as a significant blow to the group’s operational network.

According to the military, multiple terrorist locations were engaged during ongoing operations conducted over the past several days as part of the broader counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam.

The latest phase of the operation resulted in the elimination of 21 additional terrorists following intense exchanges of fire. Among those neutralized were four key terrorist ring leaders identified as Khalid Raza alias Salar, Muftoon, Musa, and Imran alias Ayan.

Security officials said the eliminated terrorists were highly wanted for their involvement in numerous terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.

With the latest successes, the total number of terrorists eliminated during the ongoing operations in the Miran Shah area has risen to 48.

Weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment were also recovered from the eliminated terrorists. According to officials, the recovered material is being examined as part of efforts to map the group’s operational and logistical networks.

The operations are part of a sustained campaign targeting terrorist infrastructure, hideouts, facilitators, and leadership elements in North Waziristan, a district that has witnessed renewed counterterrorism efforts in recent months.

Security forces said sanitization operations are continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists who may still be hiding in remote locations.

Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue with full intensity to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism and dismantle terrorist networks operating inside the country.

The latest operation follows a series of successful intelligence-based actions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces have intensified efforts to target senior terrorist leadership, disrupt recruitment networks, and prevent planned attacks against civilians and security personnel.
