Security forces have reportedly eliminated 23 terrorists during a large-scale counterterrorism operation in the mountainous areas of Bolan, targeting multiple hideouts belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), declared by the state as Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH).

According to security sources, the operation involved the coordinated use of armed drones, Cobra helicopter gunships, and ground forces, enabling security personnel to strike terrorist positions in remote and difficult terrain.

Sources said at least six terrorist hideouts were targeted during the operation, resulting in significant casualties among members of the banned outfit and the destruction of several operational bases.

Among those reportedly eliminated were individuals believed to have played key roles in planning and facilitating the Quetta train bombing, one of the major terrorist incidents attributed to the group. Officials are said to be conducting further assessments to verify the identities of those killed.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorist concentrations in the rugged mountainous region, which has historically been used by terrorist groups as a refuge and staging ground for attacks.

Security officials believe the strikes dealt a significant blow to the operational capabilities of the organization by disrupting command structures, logistics networks, and safe havens used for planning attacks.

The latest operation comes amid an intensified counterterrorism campaign across Balochistan, where security forces have increased intelligence-based operations and targeted actions against banned terrorist organizations.

In recent weeks, multiple operations have been carried out in different districts of the province as authorities seek to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt recruitment networks, and prevent future attacks on civilians, security personnel, and public installations.

While officials have yet to release a comprehensive assessment of the operation, sources described it as one of the most significant counterterrorism actions conducted in the Bolan region in recent months.

Security forces continue to maintain a heightened presence in the area, and follow-up search and clearance operations are reportedly underway to ensure that any remaining terrorist elements are tracked down and eliminated.
