Security forces carried out an airstrike against Khwarij hideouts in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district, reportedly eliminating a local commander and several of his associates, according to sources.

The operation took place in Jani Khel tehsil, where security forces targeted locations believed to be used by members of Fitna al-Khwarij.

Sources said Khariji commander Abu Bakr was among those eliminated during the strike. Several other terrorists were also reportedly neutralized as the operation targeted multiple hideouts in the area.

Initial reports indicate that the strike was aimed at disrupting terrorist infrastructure and eliminating individuals involved in militant activities in the region. The targeted locations were allegedly being used as operational bases by members of the banned outfit.

Officials have not yet released an official statement regarding the number of terrorists eliminated or the extent of damage caused to the hideouts.

The latest operation comes amid ongoing counterterrorism efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations and targeted actions against Fitna al-Khwarij and affiliated terrorist networks.

Further details are expected as authorities assess the outcome of the operation.
