Two terrorists were eliminated during an armed clash after terrorists allegedly surrounded the residence of a prominent tribal elder in Wana, South Waziristan, according to local sources.

Sources said the incident occurred in the village of Karikot, where a group of terrorists reportedly laid siege to the home of local tribal elder Malik Jameel. An exchange of fire erupted after the attack, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists.

According to local sources, firing between the two sides continued for some time, raising security concerns in the area. Information regarding additional casualties or injuries was not immediately available.

The attack is said to be the latest in a series of attempts targeting Malik Jameel and his family. Sources stated that the tribal elder and his relatives have repeatedly been targeted by terrorists in the past due to their opposition to terrorist activities and support for peace in the region.

According to local accounts, three of Malik Jameel’s sons have previously been killed in separate terrorist attacks. The family has endured years of violence, with terrorists allegedly carrying out repeated assaults against them.

Sources further said that Malik Jameel himself was wounded in an earlier attack that took place some time ago, highlighting the continued threats faced by tribal elders who resist terrorist influence in the area.

South Waziristan has witnessed a surge in terrorist violence in recent years, with tribal figures, peace committee members, security personnel and civilians frequently coming under attack. Local residents have repeatedly called for stronger security measures and sustained action against terrorist networks operating in the region.

Officials have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the latest incident. However, local sources described the elimination of the two terrorists as a significant setback for the attackers, while stressing that the security situation remains tense amid reports that firing continued in the area.
