Security forces conducted a series of intelligence-based operations across Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Kech districts of Balochistan in the aftermath of the 24 May 2026 train-related incident, targeting multiple terrorist hideouts linked to the banned Fitna-al-Hindustan network.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, troops engaged several terrorist positions during the operations, resulting in intense exchanges of fire. Seventeen terrorists were eliminated during these coordinated actions, dealing a significant blow to the operational capacity of the network active in the region.

Security sources confirmed that the neutralized terrorists were involved in a range of militant activities, including attacks targeting security forces and infrastructure in Balochistan. Weapons, ammunition, and a large cache of explosives, including prepared improvised explosive devices, were also recovered from the possession of the eliminated terrorists.

Officials further stated that sanitization operations are ongoing in the affected areas to ensure the complete clearance of any remaining terrorist presence. The operations form part of the broader counterterrorism campaign under the national framework “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aimed at dismantling foreign-supported terrorist infrastructure across the country.

Authorities emphasized that security forces, along with law enforcement agencies, will continue sustained operations to eliminate the threat of terrorism and prevent any regrouping of hostile elements in these districts.

Recent weeks have seen intensified counterterrorism reporting, including earlier analytical and investigative pieces on Afghanistan-based terrorist networks, allegations of cross-border facilitation structures involving groups such as TTP and BLA, and separate fact-check investigations exposing coordinated disinformation campaigns targeting Pakistani institutions.
