The Federal Government and the Government of Balochistan have once again reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to bringing the terrorists involved in acts of violence and sabotage to their logical end, following the tragic explosion near a railway crossing in Quetta that claimed multiple innocent lives.
A high-level special meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti to review the law and order situation and assess the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack near Chaman Phatak in Quetta.
During the meeting, participants strongly condemned the cowardly attack targeting innocent civilians and security personnel. Deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences were expressed to the families of the martyrs, while prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Inspector General of Balochistan Police briefed the meeting on the preliminary findings related to the railway track explosion. According to initial reports, the blast occurred near the railway crossing in Quetta and resulted in the martyrdom of at least 14 individuals, including three personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), while several others sustained injuries.
Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the Federal Government stands shoulder to shoulder with the Government and people of Balochistan during this difficult time. He paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs and stated that their bravery and commitment would always be remembered by the nation.
“The enemies of peace and stability will not succeed in their nefarious designs. The sacrifices of our martyrs strengthen our resolve to eradicate terrorism from every corner of the country,” the Interior Minister said.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti thanked the Federal Government and the Interior Minister for extending full support to Balochistan in the wake of the tragedy. He reiterated that the state would continue its determined fight against terrorist elements and ensure that those responsible for such barbaric acts are brought to justice.
“The terrorists involved in these heinous acts will be taken to their logical conclusion. The families of the martyrs will not be left alone, and every possible measure will be taken for their support and rehabilitation,” the Chief Minister stated.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing security measures and discussed strategies aimed at strengthening counterterrorism operations, enhancing intelligence coordination, and ensuring the protection of critical public infrastructure and civilian lives.
The tragic incident has once again highlighted the persistent threat posed by terrorist networks seeking to destabilize peace and development in Balochistan. Both federal and provincial leadership reaffirmed their collective determination to defeat all hostile elements and maintain peace, security, and stability across the province.
