Who Is Behind the Anti-Pakistan Propaganda? Attaullah Tarar Exposes Coordinated Foreign Disinformation Campaign

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar strongly condemned an orchestrated and malicious disinformation campaign being operated from outside Pakistan with the apparent objective of undermining the country’s constructive role in promoting sustainable peace and regional stability.

In a statement issued through his official social media platform, the minister said that over the past several days, a coordinated negative propaganda drive has been observed across various media and digital platforms. He noted that the campaign relies heavily on unverified claims, unnamed sources, and fabricated narratives intended to create confusion, spread misinformation, and distort facts regarding Pakistan’s policies and regional engagements.

“The objective behind this malicious campaign is to deliberately create uncertainty and mislead public opinion through the dissemination of false and misleading information,” the minister stated. “This unprofessional and agenda-driven effort to discredit Pakistan’s sincere role for sustainable peace in the region clearly reflects the frustration of those elements that are uncomfortable with peace, stability, and constructive regional cooperation.”

The minister emphasized that credible domestic media organizations and multiple independent fact-checking forums have already exposed and rejected the fabricated narratives being circulated as part of the campaign. He stressed the importance of responsible journalism, factual reporting, and verification in countering propaganda designed to malign national institutions and weaken regional harmony.

Attaullah Tarar further observed that the forces behind the disinformation drive are primarily those hostile elements that remain unsettled by Pakistan’s continued efforts for peace and its successful operations against foreign-sponsored and externally facilitated terrorism.

“We clearly understand that certain detractors of peace are unable to accept Pakistan’s positive and responsible role in the region, as well as its unwavering commitment and success in combating terrorism backed and abetted by external actors,” he remarked.

The minister maintained that the elimination of terrorism, peaceful resolution of disputes, and the establishment of long-term regional stability do not align with the interests of those orchestrating the propaganda campaign. He reiterated that such elements are attempting to manipulate information space in order to damage Pakistan’s international image and create mistrust regarding its intentions and achievements.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and responsible communication, the minister stated that Pakistan and its responsible media institutions will continue to expose the nefarious objectives and coordinated designs of anti-peace elements involved in spreading misinformation.

He also commended the role played by Pakistani media outlets, journalists, digital platforms, and social media influencers in identifying, challenging, and exposing the false narratives being propagated through the coordinated campaign.

“The patriotic and professional role of Pakistani media and responsible influencers in unmasking this malicious propaganda deserves appreciation and recognition,” he added.

The government reiterated its resolve to uphold truth, promote responsible journalism, and safeguard national interests against coordinated disinformation efforts aimed at destabilizing peace and undermining Pakistan’s global standing.
