Key TTP Figure Neutralized in Targeted Hassan Khel Operation

Neutralized, Hassan Khel Operation, Key TTP Figure Eliminated, Pakistan's War on Terror and Afghan Taliban's Double Game

Security forces neutralized a key TTP figure during a targeted operation in the Hassan Khel area of erstwhile Frontier Region Peshawar, acting on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the region.

According to security sources, the operation was carried out under the command of BR-164 Wing of the FTF Brigade within its area of responsibility in Hassan Khel. A quadcopter was deployed for targeted engagement against identified militant positions.

During the strike, a terrorist associated with the India-sponsored and Afghan-backed terror outfit, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was eliminated. He has been identified as Umar alias “Ghazi,” a local commander linked to the Sadam alias “Abu Zar” group. He was a resident of Baz Ghara in Bara Tehsil and belonged to the Kamar Khel tribe.

Security officials confirmed that the target was part of an active network operating in the Hassan Khel–Bara corridor, an area previously identified as a transit and facilitation route for armed elements. The precision strike was described as intelligence-driven, aimed at disrupting local command structures and operational coordination of terrorist groups in the region.

Preliminary assessments suggest the eliminated commander was involved in coordinating movement and local-level facilitation for terrorist activity in the surrounding tribal belt.

Security forces further reiterated that operations in the area will continue as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts to neutralize remaining threats and dismantle organized militant networks operating across border-adjacent zones.

Officials maintained that such targeted actions reflect an increasing reliance on precision intelligence and aerial surveillance to minimize collateral risk while effectively engaging high-value militant targets.

Investigations and area clearance operations are still underway.
