Pakistani security forces carried out a series of large-scale intelligence-based operations (IBOs) against militants affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in multiple areas of Balochistan, resulting in the elimination of more than seven armed operatives, according to security sources.
The operations were conducted across the regions of Ornach and Kalat, as well as the Chapar and Khuzdar areas, where security personnel reportedly tracked and engaged militant elements during ongoing counterterrorism activities.
According to officials familiar with the operations, security forces launched coordinated actions based on credible intelligence regarding the movement and presence of BLA-linked networks operating in the region. During the engagements, several armed operatives were killed, while militant hideouts and logistical infrastructure were also targeted and destroyed.
Security officials stated that the operations form part of an intensified campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks involved in attacks against civilians, law enforcement personnel, and national infrastructure in Balochistan.
Authorities noted that sanitization and search operations remain ongoing in the affected areas to locate any fleeing operatives, recover weapons and explosives, and prevent the regrouping of militant cells.
The successful operations were described by officials as another indication of enhanced coordination among Pakistan’s security and intelligence institutions in countering insurgent and extremist threats in sensitive regions of the country.
Balochistan has witnessed an increase in intelligence-based operations in recent months as security agencies intensify efforts to neutralize armed groups accused of carrying out attacks aimed at disrupting stability and development projects in the province.
Analysts note that sustained pressure on militant infrastructure and leadership networks remains central to Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism strategy, particularly in geographically challenging regions where insurgent groups have historically attempted to establish operational footholds.
Officials reiterated that operations against anti-state armed groups would continue without interruption until all threats to public safety, national sovereignty, and regional stability are eliminated.
The government and security forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace, protecting civilians, and ensuring that terrorist organizations are denied the ability to operate anywhere within the country.
