In a heinous act of aggression late last night, terrorists carried out a suicide vehicle-borne attack on the Fateh Khel Police Post in Bannu, resulting in the tragic martyrdom of 12 police personnel. The attack, aimed at destabilizing law enforcement operations in the region, caused extensive structural damage to the post.
According to police sources, three officers were rescued alive from the rubble and are currently receiving medical treatment at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bannu Region, Sajjad Khan, personally visited the DHQ Hospital late last night to assess the condition of the injured and convey the department’s full support. Speaking to media representatives, the DIG stated: “The courage and resolve of the Bannu police remain unshaken. These terrorists will never succeed in fulfilling their nefarious plans. This cowardly attack will be the last of its kind.”

Police officials confirmed that a comprehensive search-and-rescue operation is ongoing in and around the attack site to secure the area and prevent further threats. Security forces continue to maintain heightened vigilance to safeguard civilians and law enforcement personnel.
The attack comes amid ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region and underscores the continued bravery and sacrifice of Pakistan’s police forces in confronting terrorist threats.
The DIG also praised the coordination and professionalism of the officers involved in the response and rescue efforts. “Our fallen heroes have displayed the highest standards of courage and dedication. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten, and justice will be served,” DIG Sajjad Khan affirmed.
