Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has declared that any threat to Saudi Arabia would be considered a threat to Pakistan, underscoring the depth of strategic, military, and emotional ties between the two countries.
Addressing a press conference, the military spokesperson said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share historic brotherly relations rooted in mutual trust, strategic cooperation, and shared religious responsibility. Referring to longstanding defence understandings between the two states, he said the relationship extends far beyond conventional diplomacy.
“The relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is deep, multidimensional, brotherly, and based on emotions,” he said while responding to a question regarding Riyadh’s possible position in the event of future Indian aggression against Pakistan.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the strategic mutual defence understanding between the two countries reflects decades of close cooperation and carries multiple dimensions tied to regional security and stability.
He emphasized that the honor of protecting the Two Holy Mosques holds immense significance for every Pakistani and for Muslims around the world.
“It is a matter of great honor for every Pakistani child and every Muslim that Allah has chosen Pakistan and its armed forces for the defence of Harmain Sharifain whenever any threat arises,” he remarked.
The DG ISPR stated that the security of Saudi Arabia is directly linked with the security of Pakistan, adding that both countries value each other’s stability and national interests.
“Any threat to Saudi Arabia is also a threat to us,” he said, adding that just as Pakistan considers Saudi security important, Riyadh also attaches importance to Pakistan’s safety and sovereignty.
He further said Pakistan remains committed to fulfilling every promise and strategic commitment made with its allies.
“We are commanded to fulfil our commitments because we will be questioned about them. We stand by our commitments, and we will honor what we have promised,” he added.
During the interaction, the military spokesperson also spoke about Pakistan’s military preparedness, saying the country has made immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and remains fully prepared for any form of conflict.
“The sacrifices we have given and the level of preparedness we maintain for war, very few in the world can match,” he stated, expressing confidence in both the armed forces and the Pakistani nation.
He also claimed that India had wrongly assumed there was a disconnect between Pakistan’s military and its people, asserting that recent events had disproved that perception.
The remarks come amid continued commemorations of “Marka-e-Haq” and Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos, launched by Pakistan in response to India’s Operation Sindoor during last year’s military confrontation.
In recent days, Pakistani civilian and military leadership, including DG ISPR and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, have repeatedly highlighted Pakistan’s multi-domain warfare capabilities, drone operations, intelligence successes, and strategic deterrence posture while warning against future aggression.
