Security forces carried out a major intelligence-based operation in Bajaur district, targeting members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as Khawarij, according to security sources.
During the operation, a high-value target identified as Amanullah, reported to be the brother of a deputy shadow governor of the TTP network, was neutralized. Officials described the action as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist command structures and disrupt cross-border militant linkages operating in the region.
Security sources further stated that the eliminated individual was actively involved in terrorist activities and facilitation within the broader militant network. Intelligence assessments suggest that he played a supporting role in coordination and operational planning within the group.
Authorities also noted that a video linked to the deceased individual had previously been recorded in Afghanistan, which security officials describe as further indication of cross-border movement and communication among terrorist elements operating from both sides of the border. Investigators are examining the footage and associated intelligence as part of a wider effort to map external linkages of the network.
