Fresh evidence has surfaced pointing to the facilitation of terrorists by the Afghan Taliban, after images circulating on social media showed eliminated commanders of a banned outfit in meetings with Afghan Taliban figures.
According to details, the development relates to a recent operation in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces neutralized a terrorist commander identified as Saif ur Rehman along with his brother Abid. Both were affiliated with a banned organization and were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities.
The emergence of these images has added a new dimension to the case. In the photographs, the two individuals are seen alongside figures believed to be associated with the Afghan Taliban leadership, raising serious questions about cross-border linkages and support structures.
Security sources maintain that such visual evidence reinforces longstanding concerns regarding the use of Afghan territory for facilitating terrorist operations inside Pakistan. Officials have repeatedly highlighted the presence of safe havens, training centers, and logistical networks operating across the border.
The eliminated individuals were reportedly active in orchestrating acts of violence aimed at destabilizing multiple regions within Pakistan, contributing to an environment of fear and insecurity. Their neutralization was described as part of ongoing intelligence-based operations targeting terrorist infrastructure.
Analysts note that the circulation of such images is significant, not merely as isolated proof, but as part of a broader pattern that has emerged over time. Previous operations in frontier districts, including North and South Waziristan, Bajaur, and Tank, have pointed toward the involvement of foreign-origin fighters and cross-border facilitation.
Pakistani authorities have, on multiple occasions, presented evidence at international forums regarding the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan, emphasizing the need for accountability and action against such networks.
The latest development is likely to intensify scrutiny over these allegations, as it adds a visual layer to claims that have long been part of Pakistan’s security narrative.
Security officials reiterate that operations against terrorists will continue with full resolve, as efforts remain focused on dismantling networks that threaten peace and stability in the region.
