South Waziristan: Security Forces Foil Cross-Border Infiltration Attempt Along Border Area

Security forces successfully foiled an attempted infiltration by elements identified as Khawarij in the Tamora area of South Waziristan along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, officials confirmed.

According to security sources, the group attempted to infiltrate Pakistani territory from across the border with the reported objective of establishing a symbolic presence in the area, including attempts to place propaganda material in the mountainous region.

Timely and coordinated action by security forces effectively intercepted the movement. During the ensuing engagement, one infiltrating Khawarij was neutralized, while the remaining elements were forced to retreat, abandoning their attempt to enter Pakistani territory.

Officials stated that the swift response prevented what could have been a broader attempt to destabilize the area and spread propaganda within local terrain. Security forces remain deployed in the region and have intensified surveillance and monitoring along infiltration routes to prevent any further attempts.

A clearance and search operation has also been initiated in the surrounding area to ensure no additional threats remain. Security authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders and stated that any attempt to violate territorial integrity will be met with a decisive response.
