PM, US Vice President Hold Talks on Bilateral Ties, Regional Peace in Islamabad

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US Vice President JD Vance in Islamabad, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and key regional issues, with a particular focus on peace and stability.

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was also attended by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on the US side. Representing Pakistan alongside the prime minister were Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The statement noted that both sides held detailed discussions on prospects for regional peace, stability, and enhanced cooperation, reflecting a shared interest in reducing tensions and promoting dialogue.

During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated the constructive and positive participation of both US and Iranian delegations in the ongoing Islamabad talks. He expressed hope that the dialogue process would contribute to achieving sustainable and long-term peace in the region.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating diplomacy, he said Islamabad would continue to support efforts aimed at fostering understanding and cooperation between the two sides.

He further emphasized that the talks could help build greater trust and open new avenues for collaboration, underlining Pakistan’s role as a facilitator seeking peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue.
