Security forces have confirmed the elimination of Salim Baloch, a militant affiliated with the Fitna-al-Hindustan, during a targeted counter-terrorism operation in Turbat, Balochistan. The incident has revealed the exploitation of the so-called “missing persons” narrative by extremist networks to justify violence and recruit youth into armed militancy.
Sulaim Baloch had been involved in the January 31, 2026 attacks in Balochistan carried out by Fitna-al-Hindustan. His death was confirmed through social media accounts associated with Fitna-al-Hindustan and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), which acknowledge his role as a commander in recent militant operations in the region.
For years, organizations such as the Baloch Unity Committee and its affiliates, including the so-called Maherang Lango and other pseudo-human rights groups, have attempted to portray individuals like Sulaim Baloch as “missing persons,” often using their narratives to support extremist propaganda. Experts note that this is not an isolated case; prior militants killed in operations, including Burhan Baloch, Hafeez Baloch, Sohaib Lango, and Karim Jan, had also been falsely listed as missing by these groups. Even Abdul Wadood, neutralized during the Naval Base operation, appeared on similar lists.
Authorities and analysts highlight that these lists have repeatedly served as cover for Fitna-al-Hindustan’s terrorist activities, exploiting grievances among Baloch youth and recruiting them into armed insurgency. The death of Sulaim Baloch and other militants demonstrates that the “missing persons” narrative has been systematically misused to protect extremist agendas.
Experts emphasize that the pseudo-human rights groups act as a soft front for Fitna-al-Hindustan, giving legitimacy to their operations under the guise of activism. Investigations indicate that these organizations have received external support, including from RAW and other foreign networks, to manipulate local populations and foster militant recruitment.
The elimination of Sulaim Baloch underscores the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to dismantling terrorist networks and neutralizing elements that exploit social narratives to fuel violence. Authorities reiterate that the so-called missing persons lists have repeatedly included militants actively engaged in attacks, and their neutralization exposes the propaganda tactics used to recruit and radicalize vulnerable youth.
