Security sources have confirmed the arrest of extremely wanted terrorist Usama, alias Baghi, in Bannu, revealing his covert connections with the banned Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM). The arrest has exposed previously unknown links between terrorist networks and political fronts, raising serious security concerns.
Photographic evidence from the operation shows the arrested terrorist wearing a PTM cap, standing alongside a central PTM coordinator, underscoring the depth of his connections. In a video statement, Usama openly confessed to his involvement in a series of high-profile criminal acts, including targeted killings, abductions, and attacks against law enforcement personnel and civilians.
Usama admitted to participating in the murders of Assistant Commissioner Miranshah Shah Wali Khan, his security guards, SHO Abid, and Police Officer Afzal Khan, as well as three civilians in Lakki Marwat. He also confessed to orchestrating multiple abductions of police, Frontier Corps personnel, and ordinary citizens.
Security officials emphasized that the arrest provides critical intelligence on the operational nexus between banned militant organizations and outlawed political networks, which will assist in preventing future terrorist activities. The authorities have called for heightened vigilance and immediate reporting of any suspicious activities to dismantle remaining networks linked to Usama and his associates.
The investigation is ongoing, and security agencies are analyzing all communications and associations uncovered during the arrest to ensure swift prosecution and neutralization of threats.
