Balochistan: Security Forces Triumph in Radd-ul-Fitna-1, 216 Terrorists Neutralized

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s military media wing, has announced the conclusion of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1, a major counter-terrorism campaign in Balochistan, following a series of intelligence-driven operations targeting militant networks in the province.

According to the ISPR statement, the operations commenced on 29 January 2026 in Panjgur and surrounding areas of Harnai district after credible intelligence indicated the presence of armed militant groups. Coordinated raids were conducted on suspected hideouts, with multiple follow-up operations carried out across the province to dismantle what the military described as sleeper cells.

The military reported that a total of 216 militants were killed during the broader campaign. In addition, weapons, explosives, and military equipment—described as of foreign origin—were recovered during the operations. The ISPR also alleged external support for the militant groups, though independent verification of these claims has not been provided.

The campaign, while primarily targeting militants, also resulted in 36 civilian fatalities and the deaths of 22 security personnel, highlighting the complex and high-risk nature of counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s National Action Plan remains in effect, and counter-terrorism operations will continue until militant networks are fully dismantled and regional security is restored. Authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting civilians and ensuring stability in all affected areas.

Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism, safeguarding national security, and preventing the resurgence of armed extremist networks in the country.
