According to the AFF, its fighters repelled multiple attacks by Taliban forces during the clashes, killing six Taliban personnel and injuring at least 10 others.

The group claimed that the wounded Taliban personnel were subsequently transported to Zebak and Faizabad for medical treatment.

The reported fighting adds to the continuing security challenges facing the Taliban in Badakhshan, where opposition groups have periodically claimed attacks against Taliban positions and security personnel.

The casualty figures and details of the fighting could not be independently verified. Taliban authorities had not immediately issued a public statement regarding the reported clashes or the claimed casualties.
