A serious allegation of abduction and prolonged sexual assault has surfaced in Balochistan, with a local woman accusing members of the proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) of subjecting her to repeated abuse over several days before abandoning her in a deserted area, prompting renewed calls for an impartial investigation and the arrest of those responsible.
According to details provided by the affected woman, identified as Hinaal Baloch, she was allegedly abducted and held for four days during which she says she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a group of men linked to the BLA. The accusations specifically name a BLA commander, known as Doogzen alias Sarabi, along with his associates, as being involved in the incident. The woman claims she was eventually left in an isolated location in a severely distressed condition.
The incident, as described, has raised grave concerns about human rights violations and the safety of civilians, particularly women, in conflict-affected areas of the province. The allegations underline the broader issue of violence against women in regions impacted by militancy and highlight the vulnerability of non-combatants amid ongoing security challenges.
In an appeal addressed to the authorities, the affected woman has urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate notice of her case and ensure the arrest and prosecution of those allegedly involved. She has called for a transparent and credible investigation, stressing the need for justice and protection for victims of such crimes.
Human rights observers note that allegations of sexual violence require urgent, sensitive handling and thorough investigation, in line with national laws and international human rights standards. They emphasize that accountability in such cases is essential not only for delivering justice to victims but also for deterring future abuses.
Officials have yet to issue a detailed public response to the specific allegations. However, the case is expected to intensify pressure on the relevant authorities to clarify the facts, initiate legal proceedings where warranted, and reaffirm the state’s commitment to protecting civilians and upholding the rule of law in Balochistan.
