Authorities have identified the suicide bomber involved in the deadly attack in Dera Ismail Khan, where a wedding ceremony was targeted, killing six people.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), a case has been registered regarding the suicide bombing, including charges related to terrorism and other serious offenses. The FIR states that the blast occurred late at night inside a guest room during a wedding ceremony, resulting in the martyrdom of six individuals.
The FIR identified the suicide attacker as Abdul Rehman, who was raised in an Afghan refugee camp. He reportedly received his early education from informal centers and a religious seminary. CTD officials revealed that the attacker had been exposed to extremist propaganda at a young age.
Investigators have collected DNA samples and other forensic evidence from the crime scene, which have been sent for further analysis. According to the CTD report, the attacker carried out the suicide bombing at the residence of Peace Committee head Noor Alam Mehsud.
Security agencies have intensified investigations to trace the facilitators and network behind the attack, while further legal and counterterrorism measures are underway.
