Security sources have rejected as false a claim circulated by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army regarding an alleged attack on a sensitive institution’s office in Kharan, Balochistan. According to officials, the location cited in the claim does not host any office or installation belonging to a sensitive state institution.
Sources familiar with the ground situation said verification conducted after the claim surfaced found no evidence of an attack, damage, or security incident at the site identified by the outlawed group. They stressed that the assertion was entirely fabricated and disconnected from on-ground realities.
A familiar propaganda pattern
Security officials described the claim as part of a recurring propaganda tactic used by militant outfits to exaggerate operational reach, create panic, and divert attention from their own failures. Such groups, they added, often issue unverified statements after unsuccessful attempts or intelligence setbacks, hoping to project relevance through misinformation.
Authorities maintained that the situation in Kharan remains under close monitoring and no unusual security movement or emergency response was triggered in connection with the alleged incident. Residents in and around the area also reported no disruption consistent with an attack of the kind claimed.
Law enforcement agencies have urged the public and media to remain cautious, avoid sharing unverified claims issued by banned organizations, and rely only on confirmed information from credible sources. Officials reiterated that disinformation remains a key tool in militant strategy, and countering it requires restraint, verification, and responsible reporting.
