Security Forces Strike Against TTP Terrorists, Exposing Cross-Border Links

Security sources have confirmed that four armed militants affiliated with the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), belonging to its Jaish-e-Umari faction, were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan a few days ago.

According to officials familiar with the operation, the encounter occurred during routine security actions in the area when militants opened fire on advancing troops. Security forces responded effectively, resulting in the neutralization of four militants. No further details were disclosed as operations in the region remain ongoing.

Sources stated that following the encounter, the bodies of the slain militants were later buried in Haider Khel village. Preliminary identification revealed that at least two of those killed, identified as Usman and Asad, were Afghan nationals.

Further information suggests that Usman was reportedly serving as a regular security official under the Afghan interim administration, raising serious concerns over cross-border militant linkages and the use of Afghan territory and personnel by terrorist elements.

Security officials emphasized that such operations are part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating in border regions and to prevent infiltration and militant activity. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in North Waziristan and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Investigations into the backgrounds and affiliations of the remaining militants are underway, while security operations in the area continue.
