Bannu: Key Militant Eliminated as Security Forces Seize Weapons, Crypto IDs in Mamash Khel Raid

Security forces carried out a joint intelligence based operation in Mamash Khel area of Bannu district, neutralising a key militant and arresting four suspects while recovering a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and financial identifiers linked to militant activity.

The operation, conducted from 30 minutes past midnight until 10 a.m. on 12 December, was launched after intelligence agencies issued a threat alert on 8 December indicating the presence of a fifteen to sixteen member militant cell in the broader Bannu region. The cell’s movements were being coordinated by Barkat Ullah, whose activities were tracked through technical and human intelligence collected by specialised teams.

During the raid, Barkat Ullah was intercepted while attempting to escape. He was killed on the spot and an M4 rifle was recovered beside his body. Troops apprehended four additional suspects.

Recovered items included one M4 rifle, three submachine guns, a shotgun, a pistol, four grenades, a Toyota Prius with multiple number plates, Binance crypto IDs, identity cards, magazine pouches, eleven magazines, more than three hundred rounds of assorted ammunition, a mobile wallet SIM, a register and ninety three thousand one hundred and fifty rupees in cash.

Follow Up Measures Underway

In the aftermath of the operation, security personnel from 155 SP, working jointly with CTD and police, initiated further actions to seal a weapons shop linked to an apprehended suspect identified as Ameen Ullah. The investigation remains active as forces trace the group’s logistical network and financial channels.
