NRF Warns: Afghan Taliban Helping TTP Cross Pakistan Border via Hazardous, Hidden Paths

The National Resistance Front (NRF), a militant group opposing the Afghan Taliban, has issued a stark warning regarding cross-border movements of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants into Pakistan. According to the NRF, following the closure of official trade and transit routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, TTP operatives have been infiltrating Pakistani territory through remote and hazardous paths, often navigating treacherous mountains and inaccessible terrain.

The NRF claims that these operations are conducted under the direct supervision of the Afghan Taliban, who are reportedly providing the militants with logistical support, guidance, and safe passage. “These clandestine routes are difficult to monitor, and Taliban facilitation increases the threat exponentially,” NRF sources said.

This revelation echoes previous warnings by Ahmad Shah Massoud’s son, who asserted that the Taliban, acting as a de facto state, have been exporting terrorism both regionally and globally. Analysts warn that the Taliban’s support for TTP, combined with their growing ties to India, represents a direct security challenge for Pakistan and the wider region.

International forums, including the United Nations, the Moscow Summit, and the European Union, have repeatedly highlighted threats emanating from Afghanistan and urged the Taliban to act against terrorist groups operating from their soil. Despite these appeals, the Taliban have ignored international demands, displaying what NRF describes as brazen involvement in cross-border terrorism targeting Pakistan.

Security experts say the situation reflects a complex nexus of regional powers, militant networks, and Taliban operational control over border regions. The NRF warns that unless pressure is applied, these Taliban-facilitated movements along hidden and perilous paths could escalate violence within Pakistan and destabilise the region further.

The report underscores the importance of heightened vigilance along border areas and calls for coordinated regional security mechanisms to counter the emerging threats emanating from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
