The District Police Officer Okara categorically rejected former US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad’s claim that an ISIS-Khorasan commander had been targeted in Akhtarabad, asserting that no such incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Akhtarabad Police Station and that the circulating reports are rooted in Indian propaganda.
The DPO said police investigations found no evidence of any killing, operation, or militant activity in the area and termed Khalilzad’s statement “entirely unfounded.” He clarified that no individual named Burhan allegedly linked to ISIS-K was targeted in Okara, and described the social media claims as misleading and fabricated.
Khalilzad had posted a message late Thursday night alleging the targeting of a key ISIS-K commander in Pakistan. The Okara police administration promptly issued its clarification, confirming that Akhtarabad remained incident-free and that all such claims have no factual basis.
