Locals Stand with Security Forces, Several Terrorists Eliminated in Lakki Marwat and Bannu

Heavy gunfights are ongoing on Saturday in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as security forces engage with militants with the support of local residents.

In Lakki Marwat, the exchange of fire began in the morning when approximately 25–30 militants confronted police and residents who had taken defensive positions in their areas. The local community joined security forces to prevent any militant infiltration. Several terrorists have been killed in the ongoing clashes, with four bodies recovered so far. Three terrorists have also been arrested and shifted to an unknown location for further investigation. No confirmed casualties among security personnel or civilians have been reported.

Simultaneously, in Bannu, residents along with police units in Havid and Tapi Takhti Khel ambushed militants attempting to move through the region. Firefights remain ongoing, with authorities confirming that operations are continuing to neutralise the threat.

Officials emphasised that the proactive stance of the local communities, combined with security forces, is crucial in resisting militant attempts to destabilise the districts. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
