The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has revealed that the recent anti-Pakistan campaign launched by Afghan media outlets and social media accounts is entirely based on lies, deception, and fabricated content produced using artificial intelligence (AI).
According to the ministry, several Afghan social media accounts have circulated false allegations accusing the Pakistan Army of desecrating a mosque and the Holy Quran. A video accompanying these baseless claims alleged that military personnel had used dogs inside a mosque. However, the Ministry of Information clarified that no credible Pakistani or international media outlet has verified or even reported any such incident.
Verification tools and independent digital investigators have confirmed that the viral video was not genuine footage but an AI-generated fabrication designed to mislead audiences.
The ministry’s spokesperson said the disinformation campaign originated from a political statement that was distorted and weaponized by Afghan accounts to inflame religious sentiments. Following public backlash and scrutiny, one of the Afghan accounts involved admitted within 14 hours that the video had indeed been created using AI.
The spokesperson further stated that Afghan social media networks are persistently publishing anti-Pakistan content to exploit religious sensitivities for political ends. Under clear Indian influence, Afghan media and online platforms are engaged in orchestrated efforts to malign the reputation of Pakistan’s armed forces and state institutions.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reaffirmed its commitment to exposing and countering such malicious propaganda at all levels, vowing that Pakistan’s institutions will continue to unmask those who seek to spread hatred and misinformation against the country.
