A Bangladeshi citizen was among several terrorists killed in a recent intelligence-based operation (IBO) by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on September 26 and 27 in Lakki Marwat, targeting Terrorists of the Mullah Nazir Group. The Pakistan Army, Special Services Group (SSG), and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) took part in the joint action.
Seventeen terrorists, reportedly backed by India, were killed in the operation. Security sources confirmed that between seven to ten Terrorists of the Mullah Nazir Group were also injured during the clashes. ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were involved in multiple terrorist activities across the region.
Investigators revealed that one of the killed terrorists was a Bangladeshi national. Items recovered from him included a Bangladeshi identity card, local currency, and other belongings. Officials added that in past operations, at least two to three Bangladeshi nationals linked with extremist groups had also been eliminated.
Authorities further disclosed that these individuals had originally traveled to Afghanistan for religious preaching but were recruited by militant networks. Based on intelligence shared by Pakistan, Bangladeshi authorities have also arrested two suspects connected to these groups.
