Illegal Afghan Nationals Linked to Terrorism, India’s State-Sponsored Attacks Exposed: DG ISPR

Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has revealed that concrete evidence proves the involvement of illegally residing Afghan nationals in terrorism and organised crime inside Pakistan, while also exposing India’s direct role in sponsoring cross-border militancy against the country.

In an exclusive interview with a leading German magazine, the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) said Pakistan had borne the burden of hosting millions of Afghan refugees for over four decades, extending unprecedented hospitality on humanitarian grounds. He explained that Pakistan had repeatedly extended deadlines for the repatriation of Afghan nationals, despite economic and security challenges, but emphasised that their dignified return was now being carried out in a systematic and organised manner.

“The original causes for Afghan asylum were foreign interference and civil war inside Afghanistan. Those reasons no longer exist, and there is no justification for continued illegal presence in Pakistan,” Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated. He warned that irrefutable evidence showed some illegally residing Afghans had been actively involved in acts of terrorism and grave crimes, directly threatening Pakistan’s internal security.

Highlighting growing international acknowledgement of Pakistan’s concerns, the DG ISPR pointed out that the United States had recently designated the outlawed Majeed Brigade as a global terrorist organisation. He further disclosed that several terrorists killed in Balochistan under the banner of Fitna-e-Hindustan were simultaneously included on fabricated lists of “missing persons,” a tactic used to malign Pakistan’s security forces.

Turning to India, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry noted that rising incidents of violence within India itself reflected the extremist trajectory of the Indian government. “New Delhi’s policies are breeding extremism at home, and to conceal its failures, India attempts to present its internal crises as external, while external failures are projected as internal matters,” he observed.

The army spokesperson asserted that India’s hostile designs against Pakistan went far beyond rhetoric, amounting to direct state sponsorship of terrorism. “There is undeniable, documented proof of serving Indian military officers’ involvement in orchestrating terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil,” he declared, recalling that Pakistan had presented such evidence before the international community on several occasions.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reiterated that Pakistan remained committed to exposing Indian-sponsored terrorism and would continue raising the matter at global forums. He added that peace in the region could not be guaranteed until India ceased its destabilisation campaign against Pakistan.

On Kashmir, the DG ISPR urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibility by ensuring a just resolution of the long-standing dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. “The Kashmir issue is central to lasting peace and stability in South Asia. Without its resolution, the dream of regional harmony will remain elusive,” he stressed.

He concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and safeguard its people against both internal and external threats. “Pakistan has stood firm in the fight against terrorism, paid the heaviest sacrifices, and will never allow hostile forces to succeed in undermining its stability. Our commitment to a secure, peaceful and prosperous region remains unwavering.”
