Three Taliban fighters were killed in an attack carried out by the National Resistance Front (NRF) in Herat province on Saturday night, according to a statement issued by the group.
The attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. in Guzara district, along the Herat–Pashtun Zarghun road, near a police training center. The NRF stated that those killed were part of the Taliban’s Al-Farooq Corps reconnaissance unit.
During the operation, NRF fighters also seized two weapons and a motorcycle. The group confirmed that none of its fighters were harmed in the raid.
In a separate incident, two Taliban fighters were injured in Takhar province when fighters from the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) launched a rocket attack on a Taliban intelligence office in Khwaja Bahauddin district on the evening of Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Both incidents point to a continued wave of armed resistance against Taliban control in parts of northern and western Afghanistan.
