Over 60 Terror Camps Operating In Afghanistan, Pose Grave Threat To Pakistan And Regional Security

Different international organisations have revealed that more than 60 camps of terrorist groups are operating in Afghanistan across provinces including Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Zabul, Kandahar, Helmand and Nimroz. Militants from these camps are infiltrating into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, fueling the recent surge in terrorism inside Pakistan.

According to international organisations, these groups have established safe havens in residential areas, mosques and seminaries, using civilians as human shields to avoid direct action. At the same time, propaganda networks operating from Afghanistan continue to spread disinformation and level false accusations against Pakistan.

Credible evidence indicates that the interim Afghan authorities are providing shelter, facilitation and coordination to these terrorist networks. International organisations have also documented and confirmed that Afghanistan has re-emerged as a hub of transnational terrorism, posing a direct threat not only to Pakistan but to the wider region’s stability and security.

Pakistan has intensified its counter-terror operations along the western border and has urged the international community to hold Afghanistan accountable for its role in harbouring militants. Officials reiterated that regional and global peace will remain elusive unless decisive action is taken against terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan.
