CJCSC Meets Egyptian Leaders, Boosts Defence, Counterterrorism and Interfaith Cooperation

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza held key meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and senior Egyptian officials during his official visit to Egypt, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is on an official visit to Egypt, where he met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian Minister of Defence, and other high-ranking civil and military leaders.

The ISPR said the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, counterterrorism, and defence. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding military training exchanges, conducting joint exercises, and enhancing defence collaboration.

During his visit, General Sahir Shamshad also held a special meeting with Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, where they underscored the need for promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance.

The Egyptian leadership paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was also presented with a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Ministry of Defence.
