Curfew Imposed as Security Forces Launch IBO Against Khawarij in Bannu’s Nurar Area

Security forces have imposed a complete curfew in the Nurar area of Tehsil Miryan, Bannu district, as they prepare to launch a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) against Khawarij. The curfew, effective today (Thursday), is aimed at ensuring the safety of civilians and facilitating an unhindered crackdown on militant elements.

According to credible intelligence reports, Khawarij operatives are believed to be present in the area and may attempt to use innocent residents as human shields. In view of the imminent threat, security officials have issued strict directives for all citizens to remain indoors and avoid any movement during the operation.

A public announcement made by authorities clearly stated that in the event Khawarij militants seek refuge in any house or structure, the residents must immediately evacuate the premises. It further warned that any house or building used to fire upon security personnel will be demolished without warning.

“This operation is a crucial step toward eliminating the remnants of Khawarij from the region,” a senior security official said. “We are acting on precise intelligence, and the safety of the local population remains our top priority.”

Security forces have sealed off the area and launched a systematic clearance operation, conducting house-to-house searches based on actionable intelligence. The operation is part of ongoing efforts across southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to dismantle networks of extremism and restore long-term peace.

Local authorities have appealed to residents for full cooperation with law enforcement personnel and urged them to immediately report any suspicious activity. Officials emphasized that successful elimination of militant threats depends on both effective action by the forces and active support from the community.

The district administration has reaffirmed its commitment to protect civilian lives and maintain order throughout the course of the operation.
