A highly sensitive security operation is underway in various parts of Bajaur, where the situation has grown increasingly complex and delicate. As security forces tighten the cordon around hideouts, militants of Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), have resorted to their old, desperate tactics: using innocent civilians as human shields.

According to a senior police officer, the operation has entered a critical phase. “Terrorists are hiding inside residential homes and using locals as human shields,” he said. “We are proceeding with utmost caution to ensure that no harm comes to the civilian population while ensuring these terrorists are either eliminated or apprehended.”

Sources confirm that FAK fighters are attempting to flee the tightening siege. In one tragic incident in Mamund, a brave local woman was subjected to brutal violence when she confronted a militant firing on security forces from her home. Earlier, an elderly man was brutally tortured when he tried to stop terrorists from forcing their way into his house.

The administration has issued a clear directive to residents: remain vigilant and do not provide shelter or support to any terrorist or suspicious individual. Authorities urge citizens to immediately report any information regarding militant presence or their facilitators.

The ongoing operation, code-named “Sarbakaf”, has already led to the deaths of over seventeen FAK militants and injuries to at least two dozen more. Most of the deceased have been identified as Afghan nationals, and several wounded fighters have been taken into custody.

Security forces and the local administration reiterate their commitment to restoring peace in the region and have called on the public to cooperate fully. “Do not aid these terrorists in any form,” officials warned. “Together, we can eliminate this threat and ensure lasting peace for our communities.”
