Four Killed, Four Injured in Blast Near Pak-Afghan Border in Parachinar

At least four people were killed and four others sustained injuries in explosion near the Pak-Afghan border in Kurram tribal district, official sources confirmed. According to police sources, the blast occurred in a forested area near Pewar Sharamkhel, close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The victims were reportedly traveling on foot through the area when they triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along their path.

Hospital sources at the District Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar confirmed that four bodies and four injured individuals were brought to the facility following the incident. The deceased were identified as Nawab Ali, Mant Hussain, Hidayat Hussain, and Manzar Ali. The injured included Muhammad Qunein, Hasan Ghulam, Shafaat Hussain, and Anwar Ali.

Police officials stated that two mules accompanying the victims were also killed in the explosion, highlighting the impact of the blast.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident. It remains unclear who was behind the planting of the explosive device, but officials suspect the involvement of militants operating in the border region.

The incident has sparked concern among residents of the volatile border area, where sporadic violence and militant activity remain a persistent threat despite repeated security operations.
