Iran Executes Three More Individuals for Espionage on Behalf of Israel

The Iranian government has executed three more individuals accused of spying for Israel, just one day after a ceasefire was implemented between the two countries, according to Iranian judicial sources. As reported by AFP citing Iran’s judiciary, the individuals   Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei, and Rasoul Ahmad Rasoul — were charged with collaborating with the Zionist regime and attempting to smuggle equipment into the country allegedly intended for use in targeted killings.

The judiciary confirmed that the executions were carried out early Wednesday morning in the northwestern city of Urmia, located near the Turkish border. Official sources also released images of the three men wearing blue prison uniforms.

According to Mizan News Agency, the smuggled equipment was used in the assassination of an undisclosed individual. However, authorities did not provide further details about the identity or background of the victim.

The Iranian government frequently announces the arrest and execution of individuals suspected of espionage, particularly those accused of working with foreign intelligence agencies, including Israel’s Mossad.

Following the outbreak of direct hostilities with Israel on June 13, Iranian authorities pledged to expedite judicial proceedings against individuals suspected of maintaining ties with Israeli intelligence.

Earlier this week, Iran also carried out executions of several other individuals allegedly linked to Mossad, with executions reportedly taking place on Sunday and Monday.

According to human rights organizations including Amnesty International, Iran ranks second only to China in the number of executions carried out annually.
