An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Peshawar has issued arrest warrants for three senior officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) over their failure to comply with judicial orders.
The warrants have been issued against Additional Inspector General (AIG) CTD, Superintendent of Police (SP) CTD, and Inspector Iftikhar of CTD. The court directed police authorities to ensure the appearance of all three officers at the next hearing.
The ATC stated that proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) are underway against the officials for repeatedly ignoring court summons. The officers are accused of failing to present official records related to an ongoing terrorism case.
The court has expressed frustration over their non-compliance and warned of serious legal consequences. Further hearing of the case has been adjourned until June 14.
