Two terrorists allegedly linked to a recent improvised explosive device (IED) incident in Sarai Naurang were neutralized during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the Pakistan Army in the Kichi Kamar area of Lakki Marwat, according to local sources.

Sources said security forces launched the operation after receiving credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. Acting swiftly, troops effectively engaged and targeted the terrorist hideout, resulting in the elimination of both suspects.

According to the sources, the neutralized terrorists were believed to be responsible for planting an IED in Sarai Naurang in an attempt to target civilians a few days earlier. The incident had raised security concerns among residents and prompted intensified intelligence-led efforts to track down those involved.

In a symbolic move, the bodies of the neutralized terrorists were reportedly placed at the site in Sarai Naurang Bazaar where the IED had been planted, allowing local residents to witness the fate of those accused of attempting to carry out attacks against civilians.

Terrorist Hunt Intensifies

Security officials say operations under the national campaign against terrorism continue across the region, with intelligence-based actions being carried out to dismantle terrorist networks and target their facilitators.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to the objectives of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and the National Action Plan, stressing that terrorists and their support structures will continue to face sustained action as efforts to restore lasting peace and stability move forward.
