Chief of the Toji Khel tribe Malik Jameel Khan has issued a strong warning to terrorists of the banned organization and their commander Fateh, rejecting their attempts to intimidate local residents and asserting that terrorism has no connection with Islam.
In an important message to the Toji Khel tribe, Malik Jameel Khan said terrorism and spreading fear among innocent people had nothing to do with Islam, adding that such individuals were bringing the sacred concept of jihad into disrepute.
He said the terrorists were involved in extortion, theft and other illegal activities, while their actions had made ordinary citizens vulnerable, with even people associated with preaching no longer safe from their activities.
“Islam teaches peace, humanity and justice, while there is no room for terrorism and oppression,” he said.
Malik Jameel Khan warned members of the Toji Khel tribe and other local residents that anyone found facilitating terrorists, providing them shelter or assistance, or shutting shops and markets out of fear of them would face action according to law.
He stressed that Pakistan belonged to all its citizens and that the writ of the state and normal public life could not be allowed to remain paralyzed because of fear of any armed group or terrorist.
“This country is ours, Pakistan belongs to everyone. We will not be intimidated by any armed terrorist. Peace, law and the supremacy of the state will be maintained at all costs,” he said.
The tribal chief’s message comes amid continuing security challenges in South Waziristan, where terrorists have sought to exert pressure on local communities through threats, extortion and intimidation.
His warning also underscored a growing demand from local tribal leadership for residents to reject terrorist facilitation and stand behind the rule of law rather than allow armed groups to dictate the functioning of markets and daily life.
