Security Forces conducted multiple intelligence-based operations and engagements against Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of ten Khawarij.
During these operations and subsequent terrorist activity, six brave personnel of the Security Forces embraced Shahadat while valiantly defending the country against the menace of Fitna-al-Khawarij. The sacrifices of these brave sons of the soil are a testament to their unwavering commitment to defending the motherland and safeguarding the lives and security of the people of Pakistan.
On the reported presence of Khawarij in North Waziristan District, Security Forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) to effectively counter the threat and deny the Khawarij freedom of action in the area.
During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the identified Khawarij location. Following an intense exchange of fire, six Khawarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij were sent to hell.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khawarij. According to the available information, the eliminated Khawarij had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area and were engaged in efforts aimed at destabilizing the region and spreading violence.
The successful operation reflects the effectiveness of intelligence-based counter-terrorism efforts undertaken by Security Forces to identify and neutralize Khawarij elements involved in violent activities against the state and innocent citizens.
In another encounter in Hangu District, own troops successfully engaged the Khawarij, resulting in the neutralization of four more Khawarij.
The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing efforts by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies to deny Fitna-al-Khawarij the space to operate, disrupt their activities and prevent them from carrying out further acts of violence in the area.
With the elimination of these ten Khawarij, Security Forces have once again demonstrated their resolve and operational readiness to pursue and neutralize hostile elements wherever they seek to threaten the peace and security of the country.
In a separate incident on 17 September 2026, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on a Security Forces convoy, resulting in the Shahadat of six brave personnel.
These valiant sons of the soil laid down their lives in the line of duty while performing their sacred responsibility of defending the country. Their supreme sacrifice reflects the immense courage, dedication and devotion to duty displayed by Pakistan’s Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies in the face of the persistent threat posed by Fitna-al-Khawarij.
The nation pays rich tribute to its martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the defence of the motherland. The courage of their families, who have borne an immeasurable loss, remains a source of strength and pride for the entire nation.
Following the engagements, sanitization operations are being conducted in the respective areas to eliminate any remaining Khawarij and prevent their regrouping or re-emergence.
Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain fully committed to pursuing Fitna-al-Khawarij, its facilitators and support networks through sustained intelligence-based operations and coordinated counter-terrorism measures.
The ongoing campaign is being conducted under the broader national counter-terrorism framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
