Security forces successfully repelled a coordinated terrorist attack on a military installation in the Mina and Inayat Kille areas of Bajaur late last night, neutralizing nine Khawarij in a swift and decisive response, according to security sources.
Officials reported that armed assailants belonging to the proscribed “Fitna al-Khawarij” launched a complex assault on the Mina Camp, beginning with an explosive-laden attack followed by intense and sustained firing. The attackers also attempted to storm the installation through Gate No. 2 under the cover of heavy gunfire.
Security personnel responded immediately and with full force, engaging the attackers and preventing any breach of the installation. The timely and coordinated counteraction successfully foiled what officials described as a highly organized and dangerous assault aimed at causing significant casualties and destabilizing the region.
Initial reports confirm that nine Khawarij were eliminated during the exchange of fire. However, the operation came at a cost, with four personnel of the Pakistan Army embracing martyrdom after displaying exceptional courage and determination in the line of duty.
Despite the use of explosives and heavy weaponry by the attackers, the Khawarij failed to penetrate the camp’s defenses and were forced to retreat under sustained and effective resistance from security forces.
A comprehensive search and clearance operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure complete security of the region. Authorities confirmed that the injured personnel have been shifted to Peshawar for urgent medical treatment.
Security officials praised the swift response and bravery of the armed forces, stating that their decisive action prevented a potentially large-scale tragedy and reaffirmed the state’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
