Terrorists blew up the house of a police official using explosive material in the Bettani subdivision of Lakki Marwat, marking yet another targeted attack against law enforcement-linked residences in the district.
According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Shaadi Khel police station, where the house of police personnel identified as Tehsil Khan was targeted. The explosion caused significant structural damage, completely destroying the sitting area (baithak) and parts of the house.
Police said no casualties have been reported so far, while a contingent has been dispatched to the site to secure the area and initiate an investigation.
The latest attack is part of a continuing pattern of violence in Lakki Marwat, where terrorists have repeatedly targeted homes of police officials and security personnel in an apparent attempt to intimidate law enforcement and weaken local resistance structures.
Earlier this year, a police officer was abducted from his residence in the Sarai Naurang area and later martyred after his family refused to hand him over. In that incident, terrorists also set parts of the house on fire and issued threats to other police employees in the area.
In another incident reported at the start of this year, the house of a police official in Pahar Khel Pakka was first damaged with explosives and later set ablaze in a follow-up attack, indicating a coordinated pattern of targeting.
Similar tactics have been observed in previous months, including armed assaults on residences of police personnel, arson attacks, and intimidation campaigns aimed at forcing officials to resign or abandon their posts.
Beyond targeting security-linked households, terrorists have also attacked public infrastructure in the district and adjoining areas. Government schools have been set on fire or damaged using explosives, disrupting educational activities and contributing to a climate of fear.
Security officials say such incidents reflect an ongoing effort by terrorist networks to expand pressure beyond conventional targets and into civilian and institutional spaces.
Investigations into the latest attack are underway.
